Our leaders and staff are guided by the Brooks Institute's mission to pursue a paradigm shift by advancing animal law and policy.
Our mission-minded team brings a variety of experience, expertise, and personal passions for nonhuman animal protection. Our highly collaborative staff and committees come together from various backgrounds including stewardship, academia, community building, and law.
The Executive Committee advises the officers and Board of Trustees regarding strategic planning, project implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The Executive Committee is comprised of the Institute’s Trustees, President, committee chairpersons, and select ad hoc members.
The Scholars Committee is charged with sharing current perspectives on animal law and policy; developing and maintaining highest standards for research and writing; advising on programs, projects, and commissions to advance academics and scholarship in animal law, animal policy, and related interdisciplinary animal studies; and assisting the Institute staff in their operations by providing a peer review component.
