Missouri Large Carnivore Act Would Ban Tiger Selfies and Other Direct Public Contact with Dangerous Captive Animals

Missouri House Bill 2711, the “Large Carnivore Act,” would prohibit owners from facilitating direct contact between big cats, bears, or primates and members of the public or allowing a member of the public to share the same unrestricted space with a big cat, bear, or primate. The bill has not yet been assigned to a committee. If the bill is enacted, Missouri would join New York, Kansas, Arizona, and Nevada, which already have enacted similar bans.
