FSIS Seeks Public Input on Control of Salmonella in Poultry Products

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that it will be hosting a virtual public meeting on November 3, 2022, to discuss a regulatory framework that the Agency is considering for a new strategy to control Salmonella in poultry products and reduce foodborne Salmonella infections. FSIS is seeking input from stakeholders both at the public meeting and via written comments. Written comments will be accepted through November 16, 2022. FSIS also announced that the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods will hold a public meeting on November 15, 2022, to discuss and vote on adopting a new report entitled “Enhancing Salmonella Control in Poultry Products.” FSIS is accepting written comments on the report through November 15, 2022.
