DOJ Seeks Forfeiture of Animals Seized in Connection with Federal Dog Fighting and Drug Trafficking Case

The U.S. Department of Justice filed an in rem complaint in forfeiture against nineteen dogs and one rabbit who were seized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture from the Akron, Ohio home of Ronald Smith. Smith has been indicted for more than a dozen federal charges relating to alleged dog fighting, drug trafficking, and illegal possession of firearms.
