The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is proposing changes to the North Atlantic right whale vessel speed regulations to further reduce the likelihood of vessel-caused mortalities and injuries, which are major contributors to the decline of this endangered species. NMFS is accepting public comments on the proposed regulatory changes through September 30, 2022.
