Tyson Fresh Meats Inc. is facing a final judgment of over $2.5 million damages, with another $8 million dollars in punitive damages, following resolution of a contract dispute between Tyson and a cattle producer, Zia Agriculture Consulting LLC. Earlier in July, a jury found Tyson guilty of breach of contract when the company refused to pay an agreed-upon price for Zia’s high-end cattle that were produced without hormones and certified by the Global Animal Partnership.
