FWS Considers Applications for the Import of Trophy Hunted Bovids and the Export of a Protected Primate

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) announced its receipt of the following Endangered Species Act permit applications: seventeen applications for the import of bontekbok trophies killed on canned hunting ranches in South Africa, and one application for the export of a captive-bred male silvery Javan gibbon from the Greensboro Science Center to the Tasmania Zoo. FWS will accept public comments on whether these applications enhance the propagation or survival of the species through July 29, 2022.
