Advocacy Organizations Urge U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to Streamline Endangered Species Act Listing Process

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) Director Martha Williams received a letter from the Center for Biological Diversity and 139 other organizations urging FWS to take immediate action to reform its processes for making Endangered Species Act listing decisions. The letter references more than four hundred species of animals and plants that face further peril while FWS’s final listing decisions are delayed by political considerations and multiple layers of bureaucracy.
