Minnesota House File 4166 would give Zoological Association of America (ZAA)-affiliated facilities the same blanket exemption from state exotic animal restrictions that currently exists for Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA)-accredited zoos and reputable wildlife sanctuaries. Unlike those credible facilities, the ZAA offers accreditation for fee-paying members that promote public contact with big cats and deal animals to unaccredited roadside zoos. The bill has been referred to the House Committee on Agriculture Finance and Policy.
