New Jersey Bill Would Require Child Protective Services to Report Suspected Animal Cruelty

New Jersey Assembly Bill 2709 would create a duty for Department of Children and Families employees who discover potential animal abuse or neglect in the scope of an investigation into child abuse or neglect to report it to the Chief County Humane Law Enforcement Officer. The bill has been referred to the Assembly Committee on Human Services.
