Georgia Bill Would Broaden Criminal Laws Relating to Animal Fighting

Georgia Senate Bill 512 would expand existing criminal prohibitions relating to dog fighting to apply to all animal fighting––including by empowering courts to prohibit animal fighting offenders from owning animals in the future. The bill also would criminalize the sale of animal fighting objects, gambling on animal fighting, and bringing minors to animal fighting events. The bill has been referred to the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs.
