Michigan Senate Bill 761 would amend the Michigan Penal Code to exclude sled dogs and hunting dogs from existing tethering restrictions and other animal care requirements. It also would exclude “customary and reasonable farming or animal husbandry practice[s]” from the “sanitary conditions” requirements. The bill has been referred to the Michigan Senate Committee on Agriculture.
