The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is proposing new rules relating to the import of horses who have been in regions impacted by contagious equine metritis (CEM), a highly contagious venereal disease affecting horses and causing profuse vaginal discharge. The USDA will be accepting comments through January 28, 2022.
