Senate Bill 1378, the Animal Freedom from Testing, Experiments, and Research Act of 2021, would require federal agencies that use animals in research have policies in place to facilitate the adoption or placement of animals no longer needed for research. The bill would not apply to rats and mice or chimpanzees destined for sanctuaries.
