Washington Governor Jay Inslee has signed into law House Bill 1424 which will prohibit retail pet stores from selling or offering for sale a dog or cat. The law contains a legacy exemption that allows retail pet stores to continue selling dogs if they have sold or offered for sale a dog prior to the law’s effective date.
