The Department of Transportation has announced it will publish its final rule regulating traveling by air with service animals. The final rule does not consider emotional support animals to be service animals and allows airlines to require additional paperwork, impose size limitations, require that service animals be leashed, and limit the number of service animals a person may travel with. The new rule will go into effect 30 days after its publication in the Federal Register.
