Publication Year

The U.K. Parliament is considering a bill that would end the live export for slaughter of bovine animals, equine animals, sheep, goats, pigs, and wild boars. According to Environment Secretary Steve Barclay, “[t]his Bill makes use of post-Brexit freedoms to strengthen these standards by preventing the export of live animals for slaughter and fattening, which we know causes animals unnecessary stress and injury.” The bill is endorsed by Compassion in World Farming, the RSPCA, and World Horse Welfare.
