Animal Jurisprudence (Wildlife): An International and National Perspective, Part I

This seminar will address nine habeas corpus lawsuits on behalf of captive chimpanzees and elephants in New York and Connecticut, as well as potential lawsuits on behalf of elephants in California, Colorado, Israel, and India. It will also discuss an organization’s long-term strategic litigation campaign over a period of 27 years on behalf of these animals, as well as its work assisting lawyers outside the United States to achieve similar ends for these animals in the countries where they are located.
