Rise for Animals and the Animal Legal Defense Fund filed a motion for summary judgment and brief in their case challenging a secret U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, discovered in records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, scaling back inspections of certain animal testing facilities in violation of the federal Animal Welfare Act. The plaintiffs are represented by the Harvard Animal Law & Policy Clinic which unearthed the secret USDA policy during discovery.
