United States of America v. Jason McGuire and Timothy Stiller
The U.S. Department of Justice dropped the last ongoing case arising from its investigation into alleged price-fixing in the chicken industry. The move follows the decision of a Colorado federal judge to exclude evidence of communications the government sought to introduce to demonstrate the alleged price-fixing. The government claimed that the judge’s decision “departs from prior rulings in the District concerning the same conspiracy” but nonetheless decided to voluntarily dismiss the case.
