The fields of communication and media can play a central role in bringing theory to activism, the mandate of Critical Animal Studies. Lori Marino, Executive Director of the Kimmela Center, talks with two prominent academic scholars in communications and media - Dr. Carrie Freeman, Professor of Communication at Georgia State University and Dr. Debra Merskin, Professor of Media Studies at University of Oregon, about how they use their academic scholarship to advocate for other animals, mentor students, provide strategic guidance to animal activists and media makers, and about their many exciting projects!
