People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has filed suit against the Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, and National Institute of Mental Health alleging failure to respond to multiple Freedom of Information Act requests seeking records related to the treatment of nonhuman primates and other animals in publicly funded scientific and medical experiments.
