A parliamentary petition calling on the federal government to reconsider its controversial ban prohibiting the entry of commercial dogs from countries at high-risk for dog rabies has collected more than 15,000 signatures since it opened last month. Conservative Member of Parliament Michelle Rempel Garner, who is sponsoring the petition in Parliament, said “I think that the government will eventually move on this. It's just a matter of keeping the pressure up and also saying that there are different ways to approach this issue.”
