Dog Owner Denied Compensation for Burns Caused by Groomer

In Sethna v Woof! Dog Shoppe Inc, a British Columbia Small Claims Court denied Mr. Sethna a claim for $2,600 in vet bills after his dog, Tara, appeared to suffer burns after being groomed at Woof! Dog Shoppe. Tribunal Member Eric Regehr found that Sethna waived his claim to damages when he signed a waiver releasing the shop from liability if the grooming exposed a hidden medical problem or aggravated an existing issue.
