Kendra Mclellen, 27 years-old, of Windsor, Nova Scotia, was charged with five counts of permitting an animal to be in distress under the provincial Animal Protection Act. Responding to a complaint, Nova Scotia Society for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty (NS SPCA) officers seized one dog on July 6th, and returned to seize four more dogs in distress on July 11th. Mclellan unsuccessfully appealed the seizures to Nova Scotia’s Animal Welfare Appeal Board. She is scheduled to appear in provincial court on September 6th. Read more here.
