Saskatchewan SPCA Preparing Provincial Minimum Standards for Animal Rescues

Following the sentencing of a self-proclaimed animal rescuer, the Saskatchewan SPCA is drafting a document outlining minimum standards of care for animal rescue organizations. They hope to complete drafting and present the document to the provincial Ministry of Agriculture by the end of 2021. Saskatchewan SPCA executive director Don Ferguson posits that a municipal regime which charges a fee for a rescue licence could help pay for spay and neuter initiatives. Read more here.
