Delores LaPlante has been sentenced to a $400 fine and a lifetime limitation on animal ownership (two dogs and three cats) following a finding of animal abuse under the Saskatchewan SPCA Act. Although LaPlante claims that her organization Saskatchewan Alley Cats Association rescues cats, the Sask SPCA removed 106 cats, two dogs, and one turtle from her home because of the poor conditions. This was LaPlante’s second conviction for animal abuse, as she was similarly convicted in 2011 after seventy animals were seized from her home. Read more here.
