Massachusetts Considers Ban on Use of Wild Animals in Traveling Animal Exhibits

Massachusetts House Bill 2035 and Senate Bill 1246 would prohibit the use of certain animals—including elephants, lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars, mountain lions, non-human primates, bears, and giraffes—in traveling animal acts, defined as “any performance of animals where such animals are transported to, from, or between locations for the purpose of such performance, in a mobile or traveling housing facility.”
