Washington Bill Would Prohibit Sale of Fur Products

Washington Senate Bill 6294 would prohibit the sale and trade of fur products, except for used or lawfully hunted or trapped fur products sold by certain individuals. It would impose a civil penalty on violators of up to $1,000 per fur product. The bill was referred to the Senate Committee on Business, Financial Services, Gaming & Trade, which held a hearing on January 25, 2024, on a substitute version of the bill that does not include the findings section included in the introduced version.
