Crabbers File Price-Fixing Class Action Suit Against Dominant Crab Processor

A group of approximately 1,400 independent commercial crabbers have filed a class action antitrust lawsuit against Pacific Seafood in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleging that the company has fixed the price paid to crabbers for Dungeness crab in the Pacific Northwest over the past four years. Plaintiffs are seeking treble damages and injunctive relief.
