The USFWS announced its intention to list the pyramid pigtoe (a freshwater mussel species found in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Virginia) as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. The agency is seeking comments to help guide the agency in designating critical habitat and establishing any restrictive or permissive criteria to accompany the listing status. The comment period closes November 8, 2021.
