FWS Seeks Public Input on Owl Management Strategy

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) is developing a proposed management strategy to address the threat that the nonnative barred owl poses to California spotted owls. Implementation of the management strategy would necessarily require barred owl takes, which are prohibited under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act without a permit. FWS is soliciting public comments on environmental impacts and proposed management strategies through August 22, 2022.
