The Fish and Wildlife Service has withdrawn its proposed rule to list a distinct population segment of greater sage-grouse in California and Nevada under the Endangered Species Act and its proposed rule to establish designate critical habitat for the distinct population segment. The agency based this action on its conclusion that ongoing conservation efforts to protect the distinct population segment are sufficient.
