NYU Animal Studies: Seeing Octopuses
Even if you have not met an octopus in real life, chances are you have seen an octopus in a video. What are we learning from real-world encounters and footage of octopuses? What do these images mean for individual octopuses and for octopus species?
"Seeing Octopuses" is a 75-minute Zoom panel on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 9:30-10:45am EST and will feature Pippa Ehrlich (co-director of My Octopus Teacher), Peter Galison (historian and philosopher of science, Harvard University), Adi Khen (PhD candidate, Scripps Institution of Oceanography), and Peter Godfrey-Smith (philosopher of science, University of Sydney).
