Description

Animal Partisan filed a lawsuit under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (VFOIA) seeking to compel Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and its student newspaper, The Commonwealth Times, to turn over public records related its refusal to publish advertising critical of the school’s animal research program. The proposed advertising was critical of VCU’s ongoing experiments on primates, exclaiming “monkeys don’t do heroin.” with an accompanying cartoon graphic of a monkey injecting themselves.
