Halting Imports of Hunting Trophies: Ending Suffering while Supporting Conservation and Communities

Description

This hybrid event - kindly hosted by Manuela Ripa MEP (Greens/EFA, Germany) - seeks to explore a revision of the trophy hunting regime in the European Union. It will examine how trophy hunting contributes to pressuring already endangered species, undermines the objectives of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, fails to deliver meaningful conservation and socio-economic benefits, exacerbates the unsustainable use of wildlife, and is not socially accepted.

This event is organised in collaboration with Humane Society International/Europe, Pro Wildlife, Born Free Foundation, Eurogroup for Animals and Pan African Sanctuary Alliance.

Please note that this will be a hybrid event held at the European Parliament and online. Given space limitations and security considerations, physical participation will be limited to people who are accredited and/or have a pass to access the Parliament building. We invite everyone else to register as an online participant .
