Alice is the founder of The European Institute for Animal Law & Policy, a think tank specializing in EU animal law and policies. She additionally is a lecturer in European animal law at the Sorbonne Law School and Sciences Po.

Manuela regularly represents animal protection nonprofits on cases involving the protection of animals during transport, including the German NGO “Animal Welfare Foundation” and the Italian organizations Animal Equality Italy and Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali. Manuela was born and raised in Italy, and graduated from Genova Law School. She joined Conte & Giacomini Avvocati law firm in 2013, where she practices in the fields of criminal Law and EU law, as well as animal law.

Anja Hazekamp is a biologist and animal advocate. She has been an MEP since 2014, representing the Dutch Party for the Animals, the first political party in the world advocating for the entire planet and all her inhabitants.

Sylwia Spurek

Dr. Sylwia Spurek. A lawyer; a politician; a Ph.D. in law; a legal counsel; a legislator; and a feminist. Dr. Spurek is also a vegan and an animal rights advocate. Between 2015 and 2019, she was a Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights in Poland. Currently, she is a Member of the European Parliament, Vice-chair of the FEMM Committee, and a Member of LIBE Committee. Along with her partner, Dr. Marcin Anaszewicz, she is the author of the book Związek Partnerski. Rozmowy o Polsce (Partnership. Conversations about Poland) (2019), the proceeds of which are being donated to the Międzynarodowy Ruch na Rzecz Zwierząt Viva! (Viva! International Animal Rights Movement) foundation.

Michal Wiezik

Michal Wiezik is a scientist and an Associate Professor of Ecology. In the European Parliament, he is a member of the ENVI, PETI and CONT committees. In his work, among other topics, he follows the revision of animal welfare legislation and oversees the process starting with the report on the protection of animals during transport as a former member of the ANIT Committee, which ended in 2022. He also advocates for a shift away from intensive farming and for better animal welfare for farmed animals, including ending the use of cages in farming, as successfully requested by the European citizens.
