The Aquatic Life Conference is happening at a critical juncture, particularly as we approach the last decade of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, to elevate public awareness of aquatic animal sentience and the importance of taking their welfare into consideration going forward. For this reason, we have invited a variety of speakers outside of the animal welfare space, including experts from marine and ocean conservation groups, industry and the private sector, and media.
This conference is organized by the Aquatic Life Institute and will take place online to ensure the health and safety of all participants and staff. Through presentations, panels, strategy workshops, and networking opportunities, all interested stakeholders can come together to learn, exchange ideas, develop new networks and establish plans for potential future collaborations.
In an attempt to make this a truly international conference, we have speakers spanning the globe. And we are seeking participants from around the world as well. We hope that you will be able to join us for sessions in real-time where possible. While the conference is advertised in Eastern Standard Time, the recordings will be made available to those that can’t make the talks due to time zone differences and you will have the opportunity to submit further questions to the presenters afterwards, allowing interaction even if you are unable to attend in real-time.
