Thirty-Two Rabbits Seized from “Filthy” Bedroom in Vancouver

The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) seized thirty-two rabbits from a bedroom described as “filthy” in downtown Vancouver. Senior BC SPCA officer Eileen Drever described the bedroom’s strong ammonia smell, poor ventilation, feces and urine covering the room, and roaches and other bugs moving on every surface. The rabbits were being bred for sale and profit. Information about how the BC SPCA learned about the situation and any possible charges was not shared.
