BC SPCA Rescues Dogs from Okanagan Breeder

The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) seized seven dogs from an Okanagan backyard breeder, who kept them outdoors in sub-zero temperatures. Responding to a concerned citizen's call on January 17, 2024, an animal welfare officer found the animals in outdoor pens with minimal protection, exposing them to frostbite and hypothermia. The dogs' coats were matted, frozen, and soaked in urine and feces. The BC SPCA is considering pressing charges against the breeder.
